Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Inspector is responsible for determining if various materials, castings, and purchased components meet the required standards and specifications. Required traits for a successful candidate include: strong sense of duty, discipline, attention to detail, concern for the exact correctness of work, and strong commitment to timely tasks completion.

This position is considered a safety sensitive position due to "the operation of a motor vehicle, other vehicle (fork lift), equipment, machinery or power tools and/or repairing, maintaining or monitoring the performance or operation of any equipment, machinery, or manufacturing process, the malfunction of disruption of which could result in injury or property damage."

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated skills in operating Red Liner, Lead and Involute Gear Equipment, 3-axis Coordinate Measuring Equipment, calipers, micrometers, and hardness testers and other normal inspection equipment
  • Basic blueprint and geometric drawing and tolerance skills to interpret information from drawings, process and inspection sheets
  • Experience with the documentation and record keeping of inspection results
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work with others
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel
  • Self-motivated with a strong desire to succeed

 

Minimum Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years of experience as Quality Inspector in manufacturing setting 

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Language: English
